The mission of Gussie Wortham Foundation’s pilot program Education before Basketball is to improve life skills, through mentoring, improve academic performance through tutoring,improve athletic perfomance through teaching fundamentals and healthier eating habits,foster teamwork through competition, reduce the incidence of behavioral problems by providing positive recreational,educational and social opportunities to our youth. We also promote parental involvement in our program, which is geared to assist youth in the inner city,surrounding cities and towns throughout the country.
